I met fred for lunch today.Had a mega mac spicy meal .He also passed me all his notes which I am grateful to him.I can start revising my stuff on relevant topics now instead of wasting my time around.He introduce this website to me , http://www.net-force.nl You can solve programming challenges here.Really helps in problem solving skills.

15 mins for 2.4km
That was how I fared when I ran 2.4km in my gym today.Surprisingly after haven't been there for 2 years ,lots of regulations have changed.I don't need to sign in at the guard house now .There is a TV in the gym , 2 treadmills , a radio.Too bad 1 of the machine is spoil and I can't train for my chin up.I really think they should have a chin up bar in the gym.I always like to train at the playground , doing chin up with the monkey bar.However , its really not convenient to be training there while the kids are playing and their parents are nearby.

Jogging to boon lay area
NTU's result is out today.Casper didn't do well but at least he cleared his modules.I wonder why our uni standard here is so insane , maybe competition is too keen.Even Jian hui got a C for maths.Went jogging in the evening with casper.We jogged the new route he recommended and I think we ended up jogging around 4km.Extremely shagged out which I believe came from not exercising for a long period of time.I really need to train up for IPPT and I will start with running first.

Vomit in the mrt
We went for bowling today.Song zhen , yang jun , ethan and derrek also joined us.My balls are still not straight.Our 2nd game suddenly restarted so they refunded us.I saw this kid in the next lane trying to bowl but his ball keep ending up in the gutter.After awhile he got pissed off and didn't really enjoyed playing the game.His mum kept nagging at him on how to play it properly.After awhile he started hitting some pins and was overjoyed.I guess I must have been feeling the same way as him.We went waraku for dinner.The pricing was affordable and the food was not bad except for the gigantic bowl they gave for our noodles.The best part is the portion of the noodles was not on par with the noodles and soup.The soup base was tasty too and that made up for the lack of ingredients in the cheapo meal :P
I guess Yang jun and I were unlucky today.On our way back today , there was this lady and her husband standing next to us.Suddenly she vomited on her husband and the vomit splashed over to us.Yang jun offered them some tissue while people started giving them weird looks.I even heard this lady giving remarks like , "how can she vomit in the public transport" her friend replied " not feeling well mah" . She then answered back " then take cab lahhh".
I had this feeling before on the train when I was half drunk the other time , felt like puking.Lucky I didn't puke on the train.

IPPT test

Should I or should I not ?
Had a chat today with regards to my education in australia.Suddenly I feel so uncertain whether I should go over or not.The school fees is around the same but its the accomodation and living expenses thats gonna kill.Not forgetting the frequent flights if I plan to come home during my vacation.All these amount up to at least an extra 10k.Anyway , still waiting for my offer letter.May not get to go due to the rush.Let me weight the pros and cons.University of adelaide

1)Able to finish my degree in 1-1.5 years at a much steady pace
2)Experience a different lifestyle
3)Much more on campus support
4)On campus degree
cons
1)Expensive
2)This degree is already available part-time at naaec , am I wasting my money ?
Naaec
Pros
1)Able to get a degree in 2 years and working experience IF I manage to survive
Cons
1)Super compressed study time , 3 days per mth for each module
2)Lesser support from lecturers.They fly back after they finish teaching for 3 days
3)Need to cope with a part time job too because its part time
4)External part time degree label
On a side note , I manage to revise my sql today because I was too bored at home.

Fred
I posted a university of adelaide feb 2009 intake thread in hardwarezone forum and didn't got much replies.Just when I was preparing to go alone , a private msg came in.Freddie is also going over to the university of adelaide but for his honours year.He is considered my senior as he is from naaec too and completed the course already.We talked about sharing of apartment , visa , exit permit and stuff and we did lots of research.His offer letter came yesterday but mine is still nowhere in sight.I smsed over to professor dave and kathleen over at the admin side.Hope they reply me soon since its the holiday period now.
I am really running out of time and hope the offer comes soon.

Mousehunt
This facebook application is so fun.You need to sound a horn to hunt for mouse and wait for a trap check every now and then.Everytime you caught a mouse , you will get points and gold.With enough points and gold , one can then upgrade to better traps which in turn can catch better mouse.There are 3 different kinds of traps although 1 is available now , physical, tactical and shadow.Physical are for normal mice , tactical are for those trained mice and shadow are for those ghostly kind.You are also able to travel different places when you reach a certain level.There is a ranking system where u are ranked .I am still a novice :(Posted by Ern at 8:14 AM

Yes man
Just came back from bowling and yes man.Bowling was fun except we played for 3 games straight and I realised it can be quite shag.After that we caught yes man.The thing I learnt from this movie is that we should try to explore my opportunities and say yes instead of no sometimes.We could really be losing out alot in life.Posted by Ern at 10:43 PM

Bolt
I went to apply for my new passport today with casper.I actually asked if I could extend but they told me no more extending already , all of us must change.The procedure is actually quite simple and fast.Fill in the form , pay 70 bucks using nets in the ground level and get the receipt.Staple the receipt and 1 passport size Coloured photo.You can now slip the form into the application box and come back on the day indicated there.For me , its 22th dec which is next monday.The troublesome part was collecting where I waiting with casper for ard 40 minutes.The best part is the computer system suddenly hang when it was HIS turn , lol.We headed over to the army market after that to eat and shop.The clothes that casper say cost 10 bucks were not in sight , the meal was good though , char kway teow + char siew rice.
We headed to bugis using a bus after that where we caught bolt.Bolt is this movie about this movie star dog who has no idea what the real world is like until he is accidentally let out and lost his way trying to "rescue" penny.He made friends with his black cat called mittens whom he thought was the evil cat and made a side kick with a hamster.It was only halfway through the journey that he realised that his powers were fake and he was living a lie.He managed to picked himself up and find his owner and really rescue her :)
The message this story is trying to deliver , is that we must always believe that we can.Even when things look impossible , the impossible can still be achieve.It is very demoralizing to realise that we are not who we think we are and its more important to move on.

Twlight
Watch twlight yesterday as I was totally bored and noone wants to watch with me.I was quite dissapointed with it but darrell warned by before hand that there wasn't going to be much action.I think the storyline is rather weak.Girl shifts town , Vampire boy and human girl falls in love , meet the parents , this other vampire clan wants to eat the girl , vampire conflicts over the girl , vampire boy and girl gets together , to be continued ...I didn't know vampire's skin glitter while in the sunlight , thats gay man.I thought he would have like howled in pain and his skin start to melt or something.Really dissapointing.

Swensen breakfast
I woke up and saw samuel's status msg today.Something like "The more I think of the paper , the more marks I think I am going to lose".I guess I am having the same feeling as him now.The only thing I am proud of is that I manage to complete the paper in time and most of the answers should be around there.Lets hope for the best.I went for breakfast at swensen today with my dad because he had $40 voucher to be used over there.We each ate the hearty american breakfast.I can say its quite worth for money because of its variety and portion.There is 2 bacon , 1 long sausage , scrambled eggs , harsh brown , 2 french toast and this small little cup of mushroom with cream.For drinks we can choose a cup of juice and coffee or tea which means we have 2 drinks.All these for $10+ or there is another set without the bacon which cost $7+.

My paper is over !!
Just finished my paper.I feel that it is not as tough as the past year papers except some questions need to be think over abit to understand their meaning.Most people don't have enough time to finish it but I just made it on time.I hope my speed hasn't affect my accuracy but I am quite confident of this paper , should be able to pass.I really need to thank alot of people especially jian hui , steve , koon liang , daniel moorthy for always answering my java queries.Especially koon liang who always try to make time to study with me in the library although his exams are over.Very touched.Dennis for revising FSM with me and Javier for inviting me over to NP to study with him which I end up with some extra notes :P and revising calc machine with me.

NP Revisit
I went back to NP wearing my NP ICT shirt today.I ate bak chor mee at canteen 2 for lunch and the standard really dropped alot.I headed to the library next to meet up with Javier and the place still looks the same except now they even have a computer lab in the library that is free access to all.Even the computers in the first floor of the library can be used without student ID.Javier told me his lecturers were going to go through 2 papers with us , ended up making us more confused only :( We headed to the library and mugged till nite.I still need to burn midnight oil later to revise my theory !!!

Pass FTT !!!
I passed my Final theory test at last.After doing the website twice which means 600*2 questions.I seriously think the website is much more useful and relevant than the book.I still made the effort to double check my 50 questions because some questions are just too tricky.Anyway , if I am going to australia soon , the FTT serves no purpose to me.It still milestone !!! The next task will be my paper on saturday.I headed over to naaec to study with dennis not before grabbing a mega mac in macdonalds. Its quite huge , comparable to the superstar burger in carls Junior.I grab the burger alone which cost me around 5 bucks.
When I reach school , dennis was there already.I am really lucky to be revising with him today.He knows almost everything but alot of stuff I thought I know , I don't really know that well after all.I guess lots of practice needed but I am more confident now , especially of FSM.The troublesome part will be the calc machine and theory.Javier told me his lecturer is running through the paper with him tomorrow , maybe I can crash in his class :P

Term c 2008 csc paper
I went to the library with casper today ! He woke up at 1pm , lol.At the library , I was in the 3rd floor , I was trying to call and sms him but I just can't get to him.I was desperate until I have to on my laptop and login to MSN messenger to tell him I am at the 3rd floor.A nigerian guy has requested to buy his Japanese HP for 850 bucks including shipping fee because he wants to distribute it during his missionaries. It totally sounds suspicious and a typical scam , lol.Lucky casper requested for him to send the money first.
We revise through the past sem paper today in school.I was glad Mr Lim went through with the revision and alot of my doubts are cleared.I roughly understand the Big o notation now due to casper and Mr Lim's explanation.Planned a revision study group on friday so my classmates and I can revised our work.Didn't expect that quite a number of people are interested :) Hope this last minute revision can help us.

After that we caught the movie quarantine.The movie is about this group of people being trapped in this building and they can't get out.The best part is they are all slowly being infected and turning into zombie like creatures which is a new level of rabies.Started out really boring but got interesting when people in the front started screaming , lol.

Intensive revision
I studied the whole day in the library with casper tan today.We were supposed to meet at 10am and he sms me to meet 11am at 10am.The best part is , I read his sms half asleep , lol.I revised on FSM , calc Machine and 2 / 10 complement today.Lucky koon liang is very good with that topic.I remember struggling to understand it during my poly days and almost failed it.1 of the modules that caused my gpa to drop so much.I hate binariesss , lol.I tried abit of the test paper term c , boy was it tough.I better revise everything properly before officially attempting the paper again.

Adelaide school fees up by 30%
Doing some revision now.Going to do my past year paper at the library tomorrow with koon liang :) I got a reply from Andrew and he told me it takes around 3 weeks for the school to get back.The most unfortunate thing to happen to me when I am going to adelaide university is their recent increase in school fees by 30 percent next sem.I think I am one of the lucky few but studying in adelaide really beats other areas in australia in terms of living and cost.Lets hope I get my offer letter asap.

Dinner at NAAEC
I went for this dinner invitation today.Everyone there were mostly alumni or half way through the course.I felt so left out.Lucky 2 of my classmates came after that.I chatted abit with the head of computer science department and he told me he will go back and take a look at my application and approve it.Dinner was great too and I chatted abit with this senior of mine halfway through the course.She is doing a grad diploma though , she already has an NTU degree in EEE.2 of my seniors are planning to go adelaide uni for their honours , maybe I can share an apartment with them ? :)Posted by Ern at 10:18 PM

Cape no. 7
Darrell was supposed to join us for the movie but he can't make it last minute , AGAIN.We watched cape no. 7 and Jun ye was rather late.Movie supposed to start at 9:10pm and he arrived like 9:30pm.Lucky we only missed a small part.I find the movie soso and some parts rather draggy especially the part where the japanese guy kept reading the letter.Good thing about the movie is that the female lead was kinda cute.A japanese girl that speaks chinese :D.I realised she also acted in 1 of huang jing lun's mv.Fan yi chen was also impressive with the rendition of his songs at the end of the movie.Thank god for the subtitle as I can't understand the hokkien they speak.
