Failed Final Theory

The unexpectable happened today , I failed my final theory.I was reading up alot and even went early and did their practice.It still can't be avoided.I don't see why private students can only do 1 booklet while school students have 4-5 to choose from.The questions that came out , quite a few of them aren't really similiar to my ace your final theory book which 600 questions.1 question that appeared again however was the same as the 1 in the practice.

Chillz anniversary

I went over to the library to read up my java book yesterday.I can't seem to find a single seat anywhere so I have to make do with an empty space on the floor.Surprisingly there are lots of people around reading and its a super conducive place for studying.Free aircon somemore :P . Still kinda confused on how the recursion method really works but I am fine with the rest of the topics.

Went over to chillz at night and there was buffet ~ I missed the free flow of beer because I arrived at 8+pm.Free flow ends at 8.At least I managed to grab a plate of bee hoon and some chicken wings.Can't believe we stayed all the way until 4am in the morning , I wonder how the rest went to work today.Celest was super drunk.

I also applied for a part time analyst programmer post today.The job requires visual basic.net which I am familiar with and C# which I never touched before.On job training is provided and the best part , since its part time , the job hours and days should be flexible.This way , I can have enough time for school work and driving.Speaking of which , final theory is next week , gonna mug during the weekends.

feng yun animation

I watched the feng yun animation with benny , Jun ye and Koon liang today.The storyline to them was abit messed up but I think its still quite entertaining.We actually planned to watch the film by wu zun and charlene from twins but were somehow hesistant because of the bad reviews.

I am still struggling with my christmas tree , haha.Kl helped me sorted it out abit.Now I need to understand it and try to add the base and maybe reproduce it again later.

late for class on the 3rd day

I was late for almost an hour today , I thought class was suppose to start at 1pm but it starts at 12pm instead.Lucky it just consist of a tutorial question and the lecturer going through it.I arrived to just miss abit of the exception topic.I think bala was the closest to my late timing as he arrived around 12:30pm.


Really appreciate chiang lin for his notes.

2nd day

Woo , 2nd day was super rush.Jumped into "classes" already.We spend ard 20 mins in lab doing 1 of the practical question before heading back for tutorial again.Man , was that question tough.This is really crash course style.1 of my classmate was complaining to the lecturer this is so much tougher than poly days and he agrees.Lucky I did some revision with daniel and read up myself before this module.I should do the same for the rest in future.A few classmates of mine are currently still studying in Ngee ann poly and were being sent there to do only 2 modules with us.Its gonna be super tiring for them and I wonder why they don't have such cross overs during my days.

1st day at school

My first day was interesting.We revised alot of basic Java stuff to get our fundamentals right.What I really like about the lecturer is that he really go in depth to explain and he could give us very realistic examples like a ball as an object and making it bounce or throwing it around would be a method.I am surprised lots of things I learnt today , I touched before when I was a developer with ip mirror.1 of them would be SVN.I was given a clearer meaning of what static means and found out that a main method (entry point) is needed to be able to run every program.

My homework was to try the svn uploading at home which is practical 0.I am currently experiencing some difficulties as the system is prompting me repetitively for my username and password which I am sure I entered correctly.Oh well , everyone is going to bed and trying out tomorrow morning instead.I guess I should do the same for now.

IT jobs up for grab !!!

Seems like although when I am not that urgently looking for a job at the moment , jobs came finding me instead.Chay's uncle's company is looking for a web developer ( not again ) , there is this part time IT support job which is 3 days a week ( very tempted to apply) .I asked mel about the new comer to replace my position in ip mirror , she told me new people coming in and out are common , especially for my position :P I wonder how many left already.

DMC


I just watched this anime , DMC.Its a super hilarious anime about this guy who is a death metal rocker superstar at night and a quiet and kind guy during his normal life.He wish to lead his normal popstar life and not stick to his heavy metal culture.Alot of things happen on the way because of his split personality.

Another anime I caught was casshern's sin but its only in its 2nd episode.Its about this human look-alike robot who destroyed the sun who became moon.He brought about the ruin which mean that all robots will start decaying.A rumour was spread that eating him would make them live forever and he has no more memories of who he is.The robots there seem weak compare to him.

I think my revision is almost there.I am reading until a point I am finding things start to get complicated especially implementing of association relationship.Don't think that was taught in poly before.Its time to stop there.Now I am going to revise my psp 1 and 2 , database and visual basic if time permits.

musicdreamer & Kster

I went over to musicdreamer aka 爱琴海 last night with alex.I remember the last time I went over was when I was sec 4 with andy and rest.The location of the place has changed abit , the standard well , maybe dropped a little but it really brings back old times.Even my reservation and online were not replied and they claimed they haven't been updating their website for awhile.I got a glass of lian ai ping lu I think.They named some of their drinks after songs , geez.But their cup ... :)



First up was this guy named xue feng. Although he has a cold sense of humour , I still find him very sporting.Instead of the 死了都要爱 my table kept asking him to play for us , he replaced it with a 离歌 :) Both are shins songs.He was also able to sing alot of Jam xiao songs.



After him was the audience night segment.We were both anticipating this segment because we thought we could head up to sing unplugged.End up there is this group already prepared and sceduled for that segment.Totally dissapointed.Outta the 3 , only the guitarist was good.The guy was singing too safe and dull , the girl was average.They seem inexperience but lucky most around there were their supporters consisting of families and friends excluding alex and me.



We decided to have some late dinner there and I order nasi lemak.At first I was shocked when she said she may not have it.What is it doing in the menu if they don't serve it ? End up they have it but I have to wait 30 minutes for it , alex had to wait 40 mins for his Jap teriyaki.



The bill came up to $20+ for both of us and we had the feeling like we have been scammed , lol.We headed to Kster next since the night was young.I didn't know it has a stage concept where every table could go up their "stage" to perform.There is even a live unplugged segment where you could song along with the guitarist.I made a new friend there and her name was carin.She really doesn't look like a mother of 2 and is super hyperactive.



Headed over to duxton road after that but the pub she was supposed to go to wasn't open.I pass by IP Mirror on the way , still looks the same.Since most of the pubs there were close , we had to cut short our adventure and we all headed home.Btw , I received a class reminder this morning.Classes are starting soon and I am glad I have been doing my revision.Maybe when I am comfortable with my classes I will start finding a job .

No more IT Trainer

I met some new people at chillz bar last nite.There is terence who works as cisco in the airport , his friends and his wife.Alvin and ash were around too but they went over the white bar first.I was chased off from my table because they needed tables for other customer to sit .I ended up at terence table.It was fun and I was busy shouting my lungs out.1 Jug of beer and I can get high , shows how long I haven't been drinking beer.

We went for klunch this morning.Seriously , the food is getting worse everytime we go there.Everyone was late.I thought I was bad for being late ard 10 mins.Benny still told me to be early in the morning and he ended up telling me he is still at kallang when I reached since he knew everyone was gonna be late.Jun ye woke up early , brush his teeth , wore his clothes and lie on his bed.Before he knew it , he fell asleep.Koon liang was busy searcing for his certs.For someone like me who only slept ard 5am last nite and to reach on time , its a miracle.

After klunch , we went to meet up with mr kong.We made darrell waited ard 45 mins , lol.Mr kong gave us a rough idea of the job scope.The only dissapointing thing is that there don't need anymore trainers in their centre and for weekdays , usually childcare centres prefer female trainers.He was more interested in getting us to be involved with the projects of his.Payment is made only after the project is completed.He showed us a few examples and questioned us whether we could think of a way to do something similar.The first thing that came to my mind where he showed the gradient graph where the user could enter the axis was Java.awt.We could use the paint method to do it , but I think they used flash to do it.There is also this modified office they are using in the schools that eliminates the not needed stuff in Microsoft office for the convinience of the kids.

The aim of that meeting for me was to just collect information and I believed I have obtained it.My decision will be not to get involved with the projects and the trainer job due to many factors.It is now I realised there are alot of teaching than it seem , even for a part time teaching post.

Back to Hongkong

Suddenly it feels like we are back in hongkong again !!! We started off by going over to aljunied to take a look at koon liang's japanese handphone.It turns out to be an apartment which we keep missing out while walking around in circles.The good thing about his place is that he had a large number of export japanese phone sets which he ship over from Japan.After much consideration, kl chose the $500+ model.He paid 200 bucks in deposit and could collect it in 2 weeks time.He needs to change his sim card to the 3G sim card first.

We went for dinner , and guess what ? we stepped back into HK.We went to this palace dou jian da wang and the signboard looks impressive.I wanted to talk a picture of it then this lady waitress there didn't allow us to.I wonder why ? now I know , the food was bad.






We went over to another dim sum shop and ate.This 1 was more famous and better :)

Adelaide uni to 106

Its sad to hear that adelaide uni has dropped out of the top 100 ranking in the 2008 ranking and is currently in the 106 position :( Just finished studying inheritance , moving on to more examples.

Me , a teacher ?

Acelyn asked if I was interested in the job of an IT teacher or trainer.Teaching kids basic IT skills at this private school future kids I think its worth a try since the timing is flexible . The only thing would be the 6 months contract.I need to find out more.

I am at chapter 7 now.I just finished studying on validation.I thought of going for a holiday next week , if I am going , where should I go ? 2 places come to mind now , malaysia and BKK.Maybe I should just continue my revision next week.I was asking Melanie on tips to do my portfolio and she directed me to her website. Black collar cat.Quite impressive and I was surprised she didn't did multimedia in poly but later on.I really think what I learn in poly isn't enough , maybe I should go for more short courses.

Street fighter IV

Other than that , lots of girls were playing KOF.This not bad looking gal was kicking the ass of the kof cpu characters.If only Jun ye had trained harder ...

I had some wasabi fillet o fish for dinner ~ Boy was it spicy.Actually not that hot but for the kick of it.I was wondering how it was gonna taste.Ended up with abit of wasabi and lots of veg.

Course Briefing

I had my course briefing in the morning.I went there abit early to find my way to my school but I ended up reaching quite early because I remembered casper told me the direction and route that he used to collect his bursary the other time.Since I reached there early , I waited around outside the lecture room and I ended up the first to enter when the program coordinator came.The classroom looks quite comfortable for learning.



Elena gave us an overview of the course , what we are going to expect and the application of modules.The grading system , rules and regulations.I received a bunch of stuff and made 2 new friends.There is chiang lin who is working as a system engineer and Andrew who works in the automotive industry.Surprisingly he is married and have a kid already.Chiang is in the networking side and I was able to get some advice from him regarding the network job that I was interested in.



We were then brought to the computer lab where we did our enrolment online.The computers there are all running on fedora so I could get used to it when I use the computers there more often.

Hatchlings round 3 is over

In case you are wondering what is it , its a facebook application where you have to scout for eggs around other people profiles.Of course , they also have to install the application.When you find an egg , you have an option to either incubate it , give the egg to a friend , or feed it to your hatchlings.If they run low on eggs , they will leave you.If you just want to mainly collect the eggs without getting involved , just keep clicking and moving back to the friend page.For me , I am collecting lots of rare eggs and hatching them :P

Busou Renkin

Today is the official start of my revision !! A long way to go but at least to get my basics right for the week.Friday will be my briefing , I will set that as a deadline.Today lying on my bed , I realised I was beginning to miss all the stuff we used to do in bunk.My psp seem to useless now when it was the most treasured item on mine in my NS life , Ironic.Everything seem to be well planned for us over there.Exercise , timing to eat , area cleaning , range etc.Is the convertion to civillian life really so tough or am I just not used to it ?

Shuting told me some weird stuff yesterday when I left.She said "at least we went out together once before" wahahhaa.Beginning to develope feelings for me huh :P we still can be friends outside.The steamboat outing became our date.Still remember explaining to her with is TGIF and scamming her of my age and melvin's.Well , I got her a gift too which although may not be too valuable , but really suitable and practical for her :) Heard the amount of people that went for the interview were alot but only melvin and I were chosen.Did I really let zon down ?

Watching this anime busou renkin during my break time.Its about this guy who got saved by this gal whom he was trying to saved.Ended up replacing his heart with an alchemy and these could be used as weapons against homulcus.What are they ? they are these weird looking metallic creatures that devour humans and hide in humanskin created by this super genius who wants to becoming a super homulcus.Its a combination of bleach and full metal alchemist.

I really want to quote casper tan " Life ... as you see through life
there is so much more we don't understand and the only thing we know
is things don't always go as the way you plan" Really inspiring for me everytime I visit his blog.

I always like it when the sky gets dark and it starts raining.Just like us humans , we shouldn't always keep everything inside of us.Beautiful huh ..
